WCISC Terms and Conditions
Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions apply to all attendees of the Western Canada Information Security Conference including registrants, volunteers and Exhibitor representatives.
If circumstances or policies in your organization change and you can no longer attend WCISC, you may cancel your registration by providing written notice to WCISC Organizer at the contact information stated above. The WCISC refund policy is as follows:
- Cancellation on or before April 21, 2018: Full refund.
- Cancellation after April 21, 2018: No refunds.
In the event that you cancel this Agreement on or before April 21, 2018, WCISC Organizer shall refund to you the fees within thirty (30) days of receipt of the cancellation notice.
Please remember that canceling your registration does not automatically cancel your hotel and travel arrangements. Individuals are responsible for canceling their own hotel and travel reservations.
If you do not attend the WCISC and did not cancel your registration by the cancellation deadline but have paid your registration fee, you will not be refunded.
Substitutions, including those made on-site, are allowed with the written permission of the original registrant. Requests for substitutions will only be accepted by email to email@example.com. A maximum of one (1) substitution per original registrant is allowed.
It is your sole responsibility to take care of visa requirements. If you require an entry visa, you must allow sufficient time for the visa application procedure.
All attendees must be at least 18 years of age to attend WCISC, and all related events, including all evening events. Requests for any exception to this term must be submitted to WCISC Organizer in writing. Whether or not the exception is granted, is in the sole discretion of WCISC Organizer.
A government or company issued photo id may be required to collect WCISC credentials/badges.
WCISC-issued credentials are the sole property of the WCISC Organizer and must be surrendered upon demand to WCISC and/or WCISC Organizer representatives. WCISC-issued credentials must be prominently displayed while at the WCISC. False certification of an individual as an attendee or exhibitor’s representative, misuse of an exhibitor’s badge, or any other method or device used to assist unauthorized personnel to gain admittance to the exhibit floor, will be just cause for expelling the attendee or exhibitor and his representative(s) from the exhibit floor and/or banning them from future entrance into the conference. Violation of this policy by an exhibitor’s representative will also warrant the removal of the exhibitor’s booth from the floor without obligation on the part of WCISC Organizer for refund of any fees. The exhibitor, his/her employees and agents, and anyone claiming to be in the hall through the exhibitor, waives any rights or claims for damages arising out of the enforcement of this rule.
PHOTOGRAPHY, AUDIO AND VIDEO RECORDING
WCISC is held in a public space, therefore WCISC Organizer does not prohibit participants, exhibitors, sponsors, news organizations or other companies from photographing or video or audiotaping some WCISC activities. WCISC reserves the right to use images taken at the WCISC with your photograph and/or likeness in future marketing materials.
The use of Drones/Unmanned Aircrafts (“UAV”) is strictly prohibited at all times throughout the entire Venue and the adjacent areas outside of the Venue. UAV’s are devices that are used or intended to be used for flight in the air with no onboard pilot (either controlled manually or through an autopilot using a data link to connect the pilot to the UAV).
In its sole discretion and without refund, WCISC Organizer reserves the right to refuse admittance to or expel from the WCISC anyone that it determines is behaving in a manner that could be disruptive to the WCISC or any other attendee.
CODE OF CONDUCT
For more information about WCISC’s Code of Conduct, see the Code of Conduct Policy
WCISC Organizer shall not be held responsible for any delay or failure in performance of its obligations hereunder to the extent such delay or failure is caused by fire, flood, strike, civil, governmental or military authority, acts of God, acts of terrorism, acts of war, epidemics, the availability of the Venue or other similar causes beyond its reasonable control and without the fault or negligence of WCISC Organizer or its subcontractors. For one or more of such reasons, WCISC Organizer may postpone, reschedule or cancel the event without liability on the part of WCISC Organizer. In the event WCISC cannot be held or is postponed pursuant to this section, WCISC Organizer shall not be liable to attendee for any damages, costs, or losses incurred, such as transportation costs, accommodations costs, or financial losses. WCISC Organizer will review refund and/or fee transfer requests, submitted in writing, on a situational basis.
